Formula 1‘in efsane takımlarından Willams Racing F1 takımı Amerikalı yatırımcı şirketi Dorilton Capital‘e satıldı.

Williams takımından yapılan yazılı açıklamada, takım kurucusu Frank Williams ve bütün Williams Yönetim Kurulu Üyeleri’nin oy birliğiyle alındığı belirtildi.

Takımın adının Williams olarak kalacağı ve takımın Grove, İngiltere’deki merkezinin değişmeyeceği ifade edildi.

2018 ve 2019 sezonlarını son sırada tamamlayan ve yarışmacı olmaktan çok uzak bir görüntü çizen Williams bu yıl da puansız bir şekilde son sırada yer alıyor ve son iki yıldır takımda ekonomik sıkıntılar baş gösteriyordu.

Geçmişi başarılarla dolu İngiliz takımı Willams’ın, 7 pilotlar ve 9 takımlar şampiyonluğu bulunuyor. Kurulduğundan bu yana 112 yarış galibiyeti alan Willams 2012’den beri yarış, 1997’den beri dünya şampiyonluğu elde edmiyor.
